A Mobile Application Design
This is my first project as a UX designer. I am excited to be working on creating a mobile assistant for an art gallery. The main objective of this app is to improve the experience of art enthusiasts by keeping them updated on upcoming events and exhibitions.
Through push notifications and personalized messages, subscribers will receive timely information about the art gallery's latest happenings, ensuring they never miss out on any exciting event. Moreover, the app will go beyond simply notifying users about the events. It will provide detailed information about each event, including the featured artists, the theme or concept behind the exhibit, and any additional activities or talks scheduled during the event.
In addition to event information, the app will also offer a secure ticket booking feature. With just a few taps, users will be able to reserve their spot at their preferred events, eliminating the hassle of long queues or sold-out shows. The app will securely capture user payment information and generate digital tickets, allowing for a smooth and hassle-free admission process.
As a UX designer, my ultimate goal is to prioritize user experience, I hope to make art more accessible and engaging for everyone, opening the doors to a world of creativity and inspiration.
The design process started with a simple but effective technique called 'The Crazy Eight' (to gather ideas to design the mobile app) and was followed by developing Wireframes and Prototypes.

Usability Study Findings
I conducted an unmoderated usability study on the digital wireframes and came up with these insights to work on mockups.
The usability study helped test the mockups and prototypes, which led to refinement of the design based on feedback received.
Insights from Round-I of Usability Study:
Highlight the page ‘Upcoming Events’ on the home page
Users asked for a reader-friendly layout for the page ‘Upcoming Events’
Need for correcting the color theme of the design for improving the accessibility of the application
After the first round of usability study and improving the mockups, I conducted a second round of unmoderated usability studies. I came up with the following insights to further improve on the mockup designs.
Insights from Round-II of Usability Study :
Organizing the upcoming events at the gallery on a specific page will help users easily find and learn about the events they're interested in, without any confusion.
To make the app more accessible, I should add a text interpreter to important pages. This will translate the text for users, making it easier for them to understand.

Impact
The users enjoyed the app's design and it successfully helps them learn about different art forms, artists, and upcoming gallery events.
Learnings
I learned to create a visually balanced mobile application by rightly choosing the following features: Color theme, Typography, and Iconography. And I learned about how important it is to make designs accessible for everyone.
