Gani Moon Farm

The Gani Moon Farm is an organic farm operated by Jen and Chandy, a couple who are enthusiastic about farming. They specialize in growing fresh vegetables and producing honey, both of which are organic and bursting with vitality. The farm is situated in Verona, WI, United States, as part of the Farley Centre Farms.

Getting to know the business

The Gani Moon farm is an Organic farm established in 2017. Since then, the farm has focused on Organic farming.

They have been certified by regulatory bodies for producing organic vegetables and honey.

The farm is run by Jen and Chandy, a couple who are passionate part-time farmers. In recent years, they have been selling their fresh and organic vegetables and honey at a local farmers market.

They also offer some processed food made from their farm produce, such as pizza sauce and herbs infused bread.

Honey and their processed food products are the bestsellers at their stall. They are also known for their farm produce, including onions, garlic, and heirloom tomatoes.

Research

I met with my clients to learn more about their business and upcoming plans for the Gani Moon Farm.

We talked about the markets they want to enter and what sets them apart from competitors.

This gave us a good understanding of how we can reach the organic produce market in greater Madison area.

Next, we discussed their expectations for their business logo. They wanted a logo that included both a symbol and a word mark, and they wanted the logo to tell a story.

Specifically, they wanted to incorporate the Elephant God, a figure from Indian mythology known for removing obstacles, and his friend, a mouse. Their goal was to create a logo that was unique, original, and memorable.

I wrote down some ideas on paper and had a discussion with Jen and Chandy. They shared their thoughts and ideas during the discussion. We also looked at a few mood boards.

I explored ways to turn our ideas and thoughts into symbols. I wanted the logo to be engaging and unique.

This being my first Logo-Design Project, I gained valuable insights in these brainstorming sessions. One crucial lesson I want to emphasize is the importance of involving clients during ideating phase. It can truly make a significant impact on the final outcome.

At the end of this stage, we had three possible ideas to start the design phase.

Brainstorming

Design

I try out different design styles, like changing the logo’s position, using different colors, and arranging things in various ways. I used a platform called Figma to design this project.

I regularly stayed in touch with my clients during the design process, and they were excited to share their feedback.

I spent a lot of time gathering suggestions, feedback, and making improvements for the logo design. It took me around 40 tries before we finally settled on the final version.

Presentation

The final design featured both the Wordmark and Symbol.

What a magical scene! The sky is a beautiful shade of purple, with stars that twinkle and a captivating blue moon in the distance. In the foreground, there are elephant and mice diligently working together to harvest onions, garlic, and tomatoes. It's such a lovely logo!

I appreciate Jen and Chandy for giving me the chance to create their business logo. I wish them luck with the new logo and their future business endeavors.
